Pindaya
Pindaya is located in the west of the state in Pindaya
Township in Taunggyi District , Shan State of Burma . Pindaya is located 45 km
away from Kalaw and it's famous for its limestone caves as well as temples ,
Danu Village and Pagodas . One of the villages of Danu is known as Hgnatpyawtaw
and is a popular tourist destination .
Pindaya cave has a length is 490 feet long and is said to
have existed for the past 200 million years and is 5000 metres above sea level
, carvings and painting inside these caves are of Lord Buddha and were created
by hand by his worshippers .
Pagoda festival is celebrated at the base of Pindaya Hill
which is lined with huge banyan trees . Singaung Monastery is located at the
base of Pindaya , a century old teakwoood building which also has a lacquered –
bamboo Buddha image . The another famous attraction in Pindaya is Ponetaloke
Lake .
